 Clearcut Matchpoint Play

Rotated to South declarer: originally board: 28
1 Puppet Stayman over 2N: Asks for a 4 or 5 card major: meant to bid 3 heart transfer
2 Shows at least one four card major

West began with the K.
Declarer took stock. At other tables, at matchpoint scoring, most would play in hearts.
It looked like taking 12 tricks in hearts would be a standard result.
There would be few pairs, if any, playing in NT. Taking 12 tricks seemed essential.

The first diamond was won in hand.
Two top hearts were cashed.
Two top clubs were cashed.
When the Q didn't fall, exiting with the J seemed best.
It was all or nothing. Either diamond would be continued or they wouldn't be.
Diamonds were continued and there were 4 diamonds and the Q to set the contract, down one.

"Why didn't you just make your contract?" North offered.
"Huh? Can't you see it? I needed to take 12 tricks there."
"It's IMP scoring tonight."
"AAAAAAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEEAAAAAAIIIII!!!!" South groaned.
