law.com.intro.htm

Online law blogs recreational, for duplicate bridge pundits, might be a bit of bathos for many, but I might as well make comment.

Prior blogs there were newsgroups like rec.games.bridge with their stiff formats for old newsreaders that just won't update.

Some shirk convention and try own methods of restrictive formats avoidance.

How far?

Some want their own format and it can't even fit properly on blogspot.com, an Appeals Committee case such as: http://eastontario.com/handStories/243z1dp1hp1sp1np2dp2sp4sppp3033202310121102121221030023131103333231201312020020.htm

Some invent javascript driven interactive webpages to try to better present, and release them FREE, referring to some trendy university GNU substitute or complement, such as at

better called via Internet Explorer from

 Appeals Committee Presentation

Rotated to South declarer: originally board: 12

South with 11 HCPs (a "Rule of Twenty" 22 count equivalent) opened a clear 1.
North responded with a clear 1.
South rebid a clear 1.
North answered that with a clear 1N.
South at IMPs bid a non forcing 2.
North chose spades well with 2.
South referred to some idea of a Last Hurray peaking at tournament score table, considered the somewhat much less probable idea of an IMP based, otherwise even probable Masterpoint or Money Award probabity calculation and bid in many opinions a now "outrageous", now "totally ridiculous", now "somewhat interesting", now "dangerously other than clearcut" 4.

In baseball, it's like bunting needed 12 runs with bases loaded and none out, and then no such thing...a rationale and clearcut necessity for final award pursuers ignoring the short term ideas of probability.
It's the big picture before realizing that too many would be proved wrong and the cost of the inconvenience to those valued, perhaps to very needy and dependent group of powerful majority somewhat ignorant and self-satisfied complacent not ne'er do wells...perhaps not total scum of the earth, considers of dumping a deal or tournament or title to something somehow a compelling boss...or power that be.

A 7 card fit (Moysian) with 11 HCP opposite 8 HCP should be a blasphemy to those teaching Beginners and Novices and probably intermediates...a contamination for other than at least Advanced....maybe experts....but who knows that chairs and rules and present at Appeals committees.
You know?

I dunno.

Down one possibly on a necessary early try at establishing a club discard on a heart before established a diamond suit.
Misplayed or simply throwing a board?
Not clear? Depends on the committee? Who chairs?
